BlueBird was founded with a pioneering vision to transform the healthcare industry through innovative IT solutions. As the first Managed Service Provider (MSP) to exclusively focus on the medical sector, BlueBird embarked on a mission to support doctors transitioning from traditional paper records to electronic medical records (EMRs). This marked a significant milestone in Canadian healthcare, as BlueBird spearheaded the digital revolution that would redefine patient care and administrative efficiency.

2010 to 2015

John Solomos founded BlueBird iT to address the growing demand for IT infrastructure in healthcare’s digital transformation.

  • First clinic was signed up as a support client
  • Partnership established with OMD
  • Partnerships established with EMR providers
  • Recognized as the premier IT service provider in healthcare
  • Became TELUS Health’s execlusive field service provider

2016 to 2020

With an explosion of EMR adoption and the reliance on technology for day-to-day operations,  many clinics were without IT support.

  • BlueBird established a managed service provider offering
  • By 2016 over 300 clinics supported
  • BlueBird offices opened in Vancouver, Alberta and New Brunswick
  • Recognized as Top Growth company by MacLeans Magazine and Globe and Mail

2021 to Present

Continued growth through reputation and explansion of services has positioned us to provide IT services to more than 600 clients.  

  • BlueBird provided Canada Blood Services with hardware for kiosks
  • Partnered with consortium to provide health pods for space travel and remote locations on Earth
  • Organic expansion to serve small-to-mid-sized businesses, outside of healthcare
  • Well Health partnership established
